I have been on the hunt for a good makeup cleanser for a long time. I am not a big fan of cleansing wipes. I only use them when I am too tired (lazy) to do the cleansing routine. Also, I don’t like using wipes to remove eye make up - the rubbing bit isn’t exactly eyelash friendly!
I came across this tutorial on youtube. It’s by oxfordjasmine.

It’s such a simple concoction. I mix half a bottle of Johnson’s baby oil (I use the Aloe Vera one) to half a bottle of Boots Skin Tonic i.e. Rose water and Glycerine. And that’s it. Your cleanser is ready for use.
I’ve been using this home made makeup cleanser for nearly a year now and I haven’t switched. Luckily for me, my skin doesn’t break out when I use oil-based cleansers. Also, I use the product and give my face a good massage to get rid of the last traces of makeup and follow it up with a gentle cleanser (Clinique Facial Cleanser) or any gentle face wash/cleanser you’re using. The idea is to get the oil residue off my face.

I must stress that I’ve been fortune enough not to have a reaction from this product. But I’ve read a few comments on oxfordjasmine’s youtube link and it hasn’t worked for a few. If that’s you, then it’s wise to stop using it immediately.
I love it and I hope it works for you too x
p.s. Celebrity makeup artist Lisa Eldrige has done a fantastic cleansing routine video on youtube. Do check it out.
